Job Summary:

Responsible for the overall management of assigned categories, including development and implementation of category strategy in coordination with key stakeholders. The key function will be to ensure Froedtert Health has the best possible cost position through contract strategy development using market tools, supplier negotiations, product standardization, contract implementation, and contract performance review. Provides leadership to assigned Portfolio staff. Works under limited guidance on projects and problems of a complex nature using tools and independent judgment to make decisions, build relationships, serves as the product expert and ensures deliverables are met for assigned categories. Other duties as assigned.


A minimum of five years of related experience is required. Experience in Supply Chain is preferred. Clinical experience in Health Care environment is preferred, including business knowledge as it relates to inventory and contract negotiation. Prior Supervisory or Management experience.


Bachelor’s Degree is required with Business, Healthcare or Supply Chain emphasis focus. Master’s degree is preferred.


Demonstrated experience in contract negotiation, writing and administration of RFP’s, knowledge of Group Purchasing Organizations contracting in a healthcare environment. Solid skills in data analysis, using spend analysis, contract management and other decision support tools. Proficient with the Supply Chain Information Systems, Word, Outlook, and advanced MS Excel functionality. Experience interpreting large data sets and integrating, manipulating and reporting out on analyses. Experience with comparative data tools. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and perform in high stress situations with a heavy workload. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills necessary to effectively interact with employees, nurses, physicians, and other clinical staff as well as executives and suppliers.
