Job Summary:

The Manager, Cancer Center Business & Revenue Cycle applies principles of leadership and human resources in the overall coordination and supervision of billing, insurance verification, supply acquisition and finances within the cancer service line. Responsible for supervising and coordinating the day to day functioning of the Cancer Center financial positions. This position will collaborate, coordinate as well as validate information with Finance, Patient Financial Services, Admitting-Insurance Verification, Contracting and other regulatory determinants that may affect the financial viability and business growth of the Cancer Service Line, and ensure the best financial outcomes for the institution and its patients. This position will also assist with business development for all programs within the cancer service line. Duties include a high degree of staff interaction, faculty and referring physician interaction, understanding and utilization of patient information and billing systems, knowledge of regulatory compliance regarding billing, and coordination of insurance documentation. Other duties as assigned.


A minimum of two years of experience as a lead, coordinator, or supervisor is required. Prior experience with billing and insurance is preferred.


BS/BA in Business, Finance, or Healthcare Administration or other related field is required. Master’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or other related field is preferred.


Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills. Thorough attention to detail. Customer service orientation and strong interpersonal skills. Ability to coordinate project tasks and work effectively with Hospital and other Hospital/College stakeholders. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Excellent computer skills with experience using financial decision support systems. Demonstrates knowledge of various programs, including EXCEL, Word, PowerPoint and Kronos. Proficient in office automation, including word processing, spreadsheets, and electronic mail.
