Job Summary:

Responsible for the day-to day- patient care operations of the Gastroenterology & Urology Procedural Center at Froedtert Memorial Hospital; with oversight of call programs to ensure 24/7 urgent or emergent care. The Nurse Manager is an experienced nurse, with knowledge of and a commitment to care of patients in need of procedural services including all aspects of peri-operative care. Ensures that self and team have the tools and coverage necessary to service patients with regards to patient care needs and triaging to ensure a quality experience. Monitors, motivates, and supports clinical staff and colleagues to attain excellence in professional nursing practice. Effectively develops positive working relationships with staff and providers in all levels of the organization. Ensures clinical staff compliance standards for competencies, assessments, licensure, certifications, and other annual training requirements. This individual applies principles of leadership and human relations in the overall coordination and supervision of patient care and personnel in both departments. Leads by example and serves as a role model to all team members.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:

Minimum of three to five years of experience in surgery services or procedural care. Supervisory and/or education experience in Gastroenterology or Urologic Surgery is preferred. Experience using Epic is preferred.

EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:

Baccalaureate Degree required, Nursing Degree (Baccalaureate or Graduate) required.

SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:

Proven leadership and delegation skills. Demonstrated reliability and ability to maintain confidentiality. Strong interpersonal, leadership, team building and decision making capabilities to ensure effective and efficient operations. Works effectively with leadership, providers and staff to promote a positive patient experience that supports the Mission/Vision/Values. Ability to set priorities and identify and resolve problems with timely follow up and follow through.

LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:

Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact). American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required. American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required within 90 days of hire. Certification in a Nursing Specialty or Nursing Administration is preferred (e.g. , certification in clinic nursing specialty, Nurse Executive).
