Shift: Shift 1
Work schedule: Will need to be available to work at least 4 shifts per month
The Nurse Specialist-Wound/Ostomy is a clinical nurse accountable for the management of patients with wound, ostomy and continence (WOC) needs in the inpatient setting. Serves in the role as clinician, consultant and educator. Provides leadership and direction for coordination and improvement of WOC care at Froedtert Hospital, including development of policies and procedures, guidelines, standards of care and research. Other duties as assigned.
Experience as a WON/WOCN is preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is required.
Masters degree in Nursing is preferred.
Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact). Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON) through the Wound Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB) or Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN) is required with 12 months of hire or transfer into the position. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 3 months of hire.
