Job Summary:

Supervises and coordinates daily activities of Patient Food Service, Dining Room, and Catering. Performs all duties related to the daily supervision of staff and the preparation and distribution of food for patients, staff, and visitors. Maintains and enforces regulations, policies, and procedures. Assures that services offered are in accordance with established quality and customer service standards. Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:

A minimum of 1 year of formal leadership experience is required. In lieu of formal leadership experience, three years of food service or an Associates degree in Food Service Management or related field will be accepted. Previous food service leadership experience is preferred.

EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:

High School diploma or equivalent is required. Associate degree or higher in Food Service Management or a related field is highly preferred. Individuals currently enrolled in a post-secondary education program in Food Service Management or related field is preferred.

TRAINING DESCRIPTION:

AHE membership and/or CHESP accreditation is preferred. Six Sigma Green Belt certification is preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:

Demonstrates analytical and organizational, problem-solving, critical thinking, and conflict management/resolution skills. Demonstrates integrity, independent thinking, judgment, and respect for others. Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership. Ability to provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external patients/customers. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. May require standing and walking up to 90% of the day to adequately monitor staff and supplies. Broad skills with computer operations are preferred: MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, databases, electronic medical records, etc.

LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:

ServSafe certification is required within 6 months of date of hire.
