Job Summary:

Performs all duties related to the management of staff including recruitment, interviewing, and candidate selection. Manages the distribution of food and supplies for one or more assigned retail locations. This position has staffing oversight for supervisors and direct staff reports. Manages the catering responsibilities and participates in the ordering, receiving, preparation and distribution of food for hospital staff and visitors. May collaborate with executive chef to plan menu offerings and has oversight of budgeting process for assigned retail location. Establishes and maintains regulations, policies and procedures. Assures that services offered are in accordance with established quality and customer service standards. Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

A minimum of 3 years of formal leadership experience is required. In lieu of formal leadership experience, three years of food service and a Bachelor’s degree in Food Service Management or related field will be accepted.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Associate degree in Food Service Management or related field is required. Bachelor’s degree in Food Service Management or related field is highly preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

Proficient with computer operations: MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, databases, electronic medical records, etc. Demonstrates analytical and organizational problem-solving, critical thinking, and conflict management/resolution skills. Demonstrates integrity, independent thinking, judgment, and respect for others. Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide exceptional customer service to staff, and internal and external patients/customers. Requires the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. May require standing and walking up to 80% of the day to adequately monitor staff and supplies.

LICENSURE REQUIRED:

Serv-Safe certification is required within 6 months of date of hire.
